3rd Erbil International Marathon

For the third time Erbil the capital of Kurdistan is having the International Marathon in 25^th of October, 2013. On the 28^th of June this year Erbil Marathon became a member of the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS).

The purpose of Erbil International Marathon is to raise the attention in the world about a non-violence and peaceful commitment to our community. Over 5,000 runners participated in the past two years from 49 different countries, that doesn’t mean you have to be a professional runner, you can be a part of it if you have the passion for running, invite your family, friends and colleagues and let’s run for peace.

There are three stages for this year’s event.

Full Marathon – To run 42.195 K.M

Over 15 Years Old – To run 10 K.M

Family and Fun – To run 4 K.M

All stages start and finish at the Sami Abdulrahman Park.

There will be awards and giveaways to the winners and runner-up for each of these stages.
