Startup Weekend is a global network of passionate leaders and entrepreneurs on a mission to inspire educate, and empower individuals, teams and communities. It’s a 54 hour event where developers, designers, marketers, product managers, and enthusiasts come together to share ideas, form teams, build products and launch startups. The first day is dedicated to pitching ideas where these ideas will be judged, and if good enough, let through to the next round. Once the idea receives enough votes, the contestants go on to form teams. The second day is met with hard work and good advice from the various coaches. The third and final day is dedicated to presenting the startup with your team. There will be three top places: first, second, and third; each team will win a prize. Throughout the event, participants are encouraged to use their creativity and imagination with a business mind.
