Relish Kurdistan's Cream of the Crop Opportunities
Boasting a fine combination of fertile land and favorable weather conditions, Iraq’s Kurdistan Region is naturally positioned to gain advantage of a strong agricultural sector. Yet, the government’s strained budget and ailing agricultural infrastructure have held back the sector from fulfilling its potential.
Kurdistan imports more than 90 percent of its food. The demand for food products is slated to be even higher in 2020 with a population expansion to 6 million people from the current 5.4 million. Intrinsically, numerous opportunities arise in the agro-food sector, either through imports of foodstuff, or investments in the agricultural infrastructure.
Since its inception in 2008, Iraq Agro-Food has been actively providing the meeting point for local and international industry specialists to tap into significant business opportunities.
Organized by IFP Iraq, the exhibition returns this year for its 10th edition, to be held from 15 to 18 October, 2017 at the Erbil International Fair Ground.
“Since 2011, we joined Iraq Agro-Food and so far, we appreciate it because many of our customers come here. We will be here next year for sure with a bigger stand. We have good relations with our customers and we are happy with the outcome this year.”
—President of the Turkish Poultry Promotion Group
Iraq Agro-Food is a unique exhibition that underpins market demand and opportunities and covers all aspects of the food production cycle from harvesting to manufacturing, packaging, and distribution. It provides a front and center platform to display and explore agricultural produce, specialized equipment, and machinery, as well as new technologies and solutions.
With a strong focus on delivering a gratifying experience, Iraq Agro-Food has established a specialized B2B matchmaking program to optimize the participants’ benefits and return on investment. The free service automatically pairs up the requirements of industry buyers with those of suppliers and retailers exhibiting at the expo, and allows for meetings to be scheduled in a convenient private setting.
The exhibition is the place to be to meet local, regional, and international agriculture trade professionals seeking distributors and agents and looking to communicate with industry stakeholders and government officials to discuss possible joint ventures, and benefit from unmatched opportunities to enter the Iraqi market.
