BouBa Restaurant from Lebanon

25 July of 2011 by

Don’t be deceived by the unassuming location and the exterior, the BouBa restaurant in Ainkawa is far from being another run-of the-mill Lebanese eatery. The brainchild of hotelier and restaurateur Saad Khatib and his entrepreneur brother Mohamad, BouBa has been calmly gaining momentum on the Erbil dining scene since it opened at the beginning of 2011.

The restaurant’s unpretentious, comfortable interior – decked out in chestnut wood, ivory leather and travelling memoriabilia – provides a relaxed setting for a surprisingly fine dining experience.

The menu features authentic Lebanese shawarma and falafel, home-made burgers, a variety of cold and hot mezza and daily Lebanese and international specials, followed by freshly baked desserts, Italian coffee, a selection of teas and freshly squeezed juices.

“We have imported key ingredients from our home country… and strive to continuously provide impeccable service with the true spirit of Lebanese hospitality while applying the highest hygienic standards,” says Saad.

The Khatib brothers modestly attribute the success of BouBa to the homely touch their head chef – flown in from Lebanon where she had been cooking for the family for more than twenty years – has brought to their dishes.

And homely is the perfect word to describe the result. After an outing to BouBa, you will soon see the place as an extension of your own living room….you’ll be back for more, Erbil Lifestyle can guarantee it.
