EIA Winning the Best Airport amongst Africa, Middle East & Asia

Congratulations Erbil, for the second year Erbil International Airport is winning the best Airport across Africa, the Middle East and Asia voted by the International Jury at the Emerging Markets Airport Show in Abu Dhabi in 10th April, 2014 with less than five million passengers per yearly.

The award presentation was held at a ceremony in Abu Dhabi, the judges for the second time voted for EIA being the fast growing airport and having the best feedback from passengers.

The presentation of the award was made at a ceremony in Abu Dhabi. Judges once again cited the continued and unprecedented growth of the airport and the continuing good feedback from passengers.

Erbil International Airport continues to set new records for strong growth. It is to be congratulated on its performance. Such growth brings with it challenges but EIA is managing to maintain good standards of customer service.

Erbil International Airport is honored to receive such an award. We were delighted last year by this award, and I and colleagues, are equally delighted this year by the acknowledgement of our peers in the industry. My thanks go to the jury for their words of praise and acknowledgement of the progress we are making in Kurdistan. 2013 has been a challenging but rewarding year for Erbil International Airport. We are grateful to our airline partners who have seen the potential Erbil and Kurdistan has to offer and we look forward to welcoming more new airlines in due course as demand for air travel grows and the dynamic Kurdish economy expands.I must use this award to place on record my thanks to all the staff at EIA and to employees from the security, customs and immigration agencies. Successful airports are built on good team work. You can have the best hardware in the world in the form of infrastructure, buildings and facilities, but unless you have the software inthe form of people, process and procedures they will not work.
