In 2014, it was a very accomplished year for the Kurdish Cinema with lots of awards and we are honored to list them here:

LETTER TO THE KING by Hisham Zaman received a Dragon Award for Best Nordic Film at the Gothenburg Film Festal in February 1, 2014

THE BEEKEEPER  by Mano Khalil received Best Documentary Award at 28º Bozen Film Festival 2014 in April 13, 2014

BAD HUNTER by Sahim Omar Khalifa got the Jury Special Mention Award at Brussels Film Festival in June 12, 2014

The LAST WINTER by Salem Salavati received the Best Feature Film Award at the Avanca International Film Festival in July 26, 2014

BLACK & WHITE by Jalal S. Pana got the Best Cinematography Award at the Avanca International Film Festival in July 26, 2014

Mehmet Aktash & Hisham Zaman were the Winners of Best Screenplay at Amanda Awards for LETTER TO THE KING film which considers as Oscars in Norway in August 15, 2014

BAD HUNTER by Sahin Omar Khalifa received Jury Award at Montreal Film Festival in September 7, 2014

BLACK & WHITE by Jalal Saeed Pana got the Best Short Film Award at the 20th Greece International Film Festival in Drama in September 20, 2014

BLACK & WHITE by Jalal Saeed Pana received the Best Short Film Award at the 26th Esfahan International Children Film Festival in October 6, 2014

THE LAST WINTER by Salem Salavati got the Best Screenplay Award at Beirut International Film Festival in October 9, 2014

The HOME AND KEY by Shwan Attof was able to get the Best International Short Film Award at the Arica Nativa Film Festival October 19, 2014

BAD HUNTER by Sahin Omer Khalifa also received the Jury Award at the Valladolid International Film Festival in October 25, 2014

The MEMORIES ON STONE by Shawkat Amin Korki received the Best Film from the Arab World at Abu Dhabi Film Festival in October 31, 2014

THE BEEKEEPER  by Mano Khalil also received the Second Best Documentary Award at Bozcaada International Festival of Ecological Documentary in November 2, 2014

The MEMORIES ON STONE by Shawkat Amin Korki was able to receive the Best Director at Cinedays Skopje 13th European Film Festival in November 24, 2014

MEMORIES ON STONE by Shawkat Amin Korki also received the UNESCO Award for outstanding contribution to the promotion and preservation of cultural diversity through film the Asia Pacific Screen Award which is valued as the Oscars in Asia in December 11, 2014

1001 APPLES directed by Taha Karimi received the Best Documentary Feature Film award at the Asia Pacific Screen Award in December 11, 2014

BAD HUNTER by Sahin Omar Khalifa received the Best Jury Prize at Dubai International Film Festival in December 16, 2014

LETTER TO THE KING by Hisham Zaman received the Special Mention Award at Dubai International Film Festival in December 16, 2014

10 SECONDS directed by Ako Aziz Mirza got the Best Feature Film Award at the Overlook 2014 – 5th Cinemavvenire Film Festival in December 21, 2014

Meanwhile, the BAGHDAD MESSI film by Sahin Omar Khalifa the winner of 48 international awards is on the shortlist for the Oscar’s Best Short Film Award, the announcing date is on January 15, 2015
